On 30 September 2026, the European Road Safety Charter will organise the online webinar “Improving safety for personal mobility devices”, bringing together experts and practitioners from across Europe to discuss practical approaches to making the use of e-scooters, e-bikes and other personal mobility devices safer.
The webinar will focus on common safety challenges associated with personal mobility devices, as well as effective measures that public authorities, policymakers, organisations, and other stakeholders can implement in their local contexts. The event will provide an opportunity to exchange practical experiences and lessons learned from different European countries.
Among the invited speakers is FERSI’s Secretary, Dr. Sevket Oguz Kagan Capkin, representing CTL – Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). His contribution, titled “Challenges and lessons learned of e-scooters in Italy”, will provide insights into the Italian experience and the challenges emerging from the growing use of e-scooters and other forms of micromobility.
The programme will also feature contributions from Dynostar, TeamAlert, and Madlencnik Mobility, addressing enforcement for e-scooters and powered two-wheelers, the growing use of fatbikes in the Netherlands, and the development of effective e-scooter safety courses.
The webinar will offer a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing and European cooperation, bringing together policymakers, public authorities, researchers, organisations and micromobility users to discuss how emerging forms of mobility can be better integrated into safer road environments.
Registration and further information are available through the European Road Safety Charter website.
