ESRA 10 years event (Brussels, 24 June 2025)

FERSI is pleased to announce its participation as a sponsor in the “ESRA 10 years event” scheduled for June 24, 2025 at the Belgian Federal Public Service Mobility & Transport (Brussels, Belgium).

Over the past ten years, ESRA has provided invaluable insights into road users’ attitudes and behaviours, shaping policies and initiatives worldwide.

This event is a unique opportunity to reflect on the evolution of the ESRA initiative and its impact on road safety policy. Key findings from 10 years of research will be presented, unveiling a dedicated report and the new ESRA dashboard, and exploring how these insights can drive future improvements in road safety. Furthermore, ESRA4, the next phase in our mission to create safer roads through data-driven strategies, will be introduced.

FERSI General Assembly (Rome, 6–7 May 2025)

On May 6 and 7, 2025, the FERSI General Assembly was held in Rome, in the beautiful and ancient setting of the Faculty of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome.

This was the first GA since the election of the new Executive Board, established in the elections held last November.

The CTL hosted this two-day event in the capital of Italy, inviting FERSI’s partners to discuss focal points and the vision of the future for the entire network. FAST-zero’25, the 8th International Symposium in Arles (23-26 September 2025)

FAST-zero’25, the “8th International Symposium on Future Active Safety Technology toward zero traffic accidents”, will be held from 23 to 26 September 2025 in Arles, a city with an history of two millennia located in the South Area of France. It will be organized by the Laboratory of Accident Mechanisms Analysis of Gustave Eiffel University, in association with JSAE. This return of FAST-zero in Europe will coincide with the 40th birthday of this Laboratory.

Following the tradition of FAST-zero symposia, the 8th Edition will bring together researchers and engineers from industry and academia to present the current state-of-the-art and progress in research and development of active safety technologies.

Innovation in the field of active safety is the key driving force towards the ultimate goal of realizing zero traffic accidents. Researchers around the world have been investigating methods for active safety to reduce and possibly eliminate the number of traffic accidents as well as road fatalities. Automated and connected vehicles, that have experienced a great improvement in the last years, have the potential to enhance safety. Human factors and validation / assessment of active safety devices are also in the scope of this symposium.
